Today has been awesome. I was fortunate enough to invited to become part of a fantastic new theatre company based out in Manchester called the straight acting theatre company, by managing director and producer Alan Stuart Malin.
Now I’ve done a few bits of theatre, but not for a while, in fact the last piece of theatre I did was the Christmas Carol back in December 2015. I’ve been trying for a while to break into the Manchester theatre scene with little success. So my exhilaration when I was asked if I would like to join the company. Well I was made up.
My first reading came and went and I have to say, we all had a fantastic and laughter filled few hours. Our mission on this day was to read and break down the comedy “Noises Off” by Michael Frayn. I got to read for the entirely misunderstood yet quietly inebriated Selsdon, which I enjoyed immensely. But the best part was hearing the play come to life with the voices of this most talented group. You can see who is involved if you go here
I can’t name everyone, but the members of this company made me feel right at home, amidst creatives that simply want to make something beautiful.
If your interested in what were doing over at Straight Acting Theatre or want to see when we might be performing, get yourself over to the website and show some support for a local Manchester Theatre company that is going to hit the scene with a bang. So to wrap up, great day, great people and… Oh no I’ve lost the sardines
